A week or so ago, I came across an idea I had never heard of: Cover Cropping. Cover cropping puts nutrients back into the soil that previous crops may have reduced or depleted. It can also be used to attract beneficial bugs and kill/reduce weeds. They are generally low maintenance and usually go unharvested so that they can be tilled into the soil, acting as a sort of compost/fertilizer.
